#85

Remember when I trekked to Houston and the West Side Highway like a handful of times to do this?....  Yea, me neither.

FINALLY went to play field hockey again today and already feeling the burn.  This is what I get though for choosing cold frosty beverages, hot wings, and watched televised displays of men in spandex (and more recently, mesh) get all up on each other over physical activity for the past six months.

I wish my bed was a little higher off the ground because I'm going to need a rolling start to get out of it in the morning.  Awesome.

Debating whether or not to fill out an NCAA (formerly NAACP, whoops!) bracket.  I'm really terrible at things like that and I know I will have Maryland advancing to a ridiculously unreasonable round in the hopes that I'll get to cheer for them longer.  But damn, I do reeeeeally want a virtual trophy for my Yahoo! Fantasy Sports profile... and more and more it looks like the WereNot(James)Worthy's are going to shit the bed all the way into 8th place.

Hm...

Two-thirds of the Earth is covered by water.
The other 1/3 is covered by Ed Reed.

Words cannot express my joy towards the Ravens win over the Cowboys on Saturday night AT THE LAST GAME AT TEXAS STADIUM.  Finally, one of my teams got it right.  (You know, unlike Orioles last game at Yankee Stadium.)  I wish I could embed this highlight reel!

Next Sunday, Danny and I will be bundled up in 17 layers of clothes and suspenders crafted from 20 hand warmers in Baltimore cheering the Ravens on in victory over Jacksonville!  Wildcard here we come.

Biggest dilemma... next jersey to get?
Ed Reed vs. Derrick Mason.

The whole hunt-for-the-wildcard thing could prove to be a trying time for some of my friendships.  The Dagger, a rabid Pats fan, and I could come to blows over that elusive wildcard spot.

Re: #29

Whoops!
Looks like I may be eating my words if  Boston beat Tampa Bay in Game 7.  Although, I think there may be a mathematical explanation for this...

Some rules of geometry and how they apply to my sports predictions:

Antecedent - "A" - if I hope a team will win and blog about it...
Consequent - "B" - ...then they will win.
Thus, the conditional statement is "If A, then B".

1. Case Study #1 - the Dutch soccer team in the Euro Cup
If A, then Not B.
If I hope they win and blog about it, they will lose.

2. Case Study #2 - NLCS, Dodgers vs. Phillies
Not A -> Not B
If I hope they win and don't blog about it, they will lose.

3. Case Study #3 -  Game 5, Boston vs. Tampa Bay
Not B -> A
If it a appears a team is certain to lose and I blog about it before the game is actually over, they will win.

So, I know that the inverse and converse of my statements do not hold true.  I haven't yet tested the contrapositive...  Not B -> Not A... aka, they won't win if I don't hope about it and don't blog about it.

In conclusion, overall epic fail on my part.
